This is a BOLO for the folks of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Folks wrote us about this guy there who has been preying on well-meaning people there trying to get them to open their wallets to him. His name is Clarence M. “Butch” Belangia and he claims that he was a Vietnam Marine veteran with a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and a Medal of Honor. A vigilant veteran discovered that he didn’t appear on any of the lists of Medal of Honor recipients and, of course, the locals attacked the legitimate veteran for being mean to the phony veteran who was making sh1t up.<\/p>\n

Anyway, Mr. Belangia continued his malfeasance and even had a GoFundMe page erected for the open-hearted community. The local Travel Lodge gave him accommodations free of charge despite evidence that he is a liar. But his valorous military service has been downgraded to two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart now to fit the lack of proof of the Medal of Honor. Well, here, let me downgrade his service even further;<\/p>\n

The National Personnel Records Center has no record of him serving in any of the branches of the military…ever. By the way, his kids even told the community that he hadn’t served, but people were looking for a hero, apparently. Ol’ Butch here is just another stank ass hippie who successfully avoided the Vietnam-era draft and now regrets it. If you people in Kill Devil Hills want to give him money, well, go ahead, but at least do so knowing the facts about Butch.
