That bucklehead Chris Matthews may have succumbed to that tingling in his legs and decided to run for Arlen Specter’s Senate seat in 2010.<\/p>\n
Matthews met with state party leaders this week in Washington to discuss a possible bid. Mary Isenhour, the executive director of the state Democrats, told The Patriot-News of Harrisburg that she left the meeting feeling that the host of MSNBC’s “Hardball” still hadn’t made up his mind.<\/p>\n
“He’s got a lot of things he still needs to consider,” Isenhour said. “He’s got a really good job with MSNBC. I think he’s going to put some thought into it before he jumps in.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
A quick perusal of some blogs gets what should be a disappointing response for Matthews. An Obamista says it’s finally a reason for him to cross party lines<\/a> and vote for Specter. Another blogger who claims that he left the Democrats because Pelosi and Reid weren’t far enough Left says “Tweety” Matthews denies he’ll run<\/a>. But another says Matthews has been “staffing up” from the Obama team<\/a>. A general conspiracy theory nutjob<\/a> is worried that he’ll be forced to vote for Specter.<\/p>\n
Judging from the general lack of support, I wonder how Matthews figures he’ll win – unless he’s doing it just to get those tingles. Of course, he could always just keep his cell phone on vibrate, put it in his pocket and call himself repeatedly – that might be easier to take than watching Matthews campaign and lose – again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
