The folks at Outpost of Freedom<\/a> sent us their work on this Christopher Blystone fellow who claimed to have been in Mogadishu during Operation Gothic Serpent (of course) he alternates between being assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and being a Ranger medic. Either way, he claims that he had the Combat Medic Badge;<\/p>\n

Of course, none of that is true. it looks like he had a prior enlistment to the one in this DD214. You’ll notice that he was a 91B medic on his prior enlistment (MOS training in 1995 – two years after the Gothic Serpent operation) and then he re-enlisted to be a veterinary food inspector (91R) and went to Korea. Block 12f says that he was there for ten months. His reenlistment document says that he was an E-3 at that time and then he rocketed to E-1 in just 17 months. Korea will do that to you.<\/p>\n

He was assigned to the 106th Medical Detachment, so that’s close to the 160th SOAR, right? Same numbers must mean the same unit. Apparently, he’s a militia member there in Texas and everyone knows how those guys’ ranks are packed full of authentic heroes.<\/p>\n
