The first story this morning comes from Illinois<\/a>;<\/p>\n

According to Sgt. Matt Jany, at 5:41 p.m., a homeowner told dispatchers someone was trying to break into his home at 9401 Torrens Lane just south of Lenzburg and that he had fired shots at the intruder.<\/p>\n

When the first officers arrived shortly before 6 p.m., they found a person who had been shot to death.<\/p>\n

Jany said the homeowner was not hurt but did not release any other details about the incident.<\/p>\n

Then comes North Carolina<\/a>;<\/p>\n

[Tyraan McLean, 29] told investigators he and his 2-year-old son were lying on a bed when he hear a loud booming noise.<\/p>\n

McLean got up, ran to the back door and found Emanuel in the room, Thompson said.<\/p>\n

McLean, armed with a 9mm handgun, shot Emanuel multiple times, Thompson said.<\/p>\n

McLean then called 911 and reported the shooting, telling them Emanuel had kicked in the door.<\/p>\n

McLean then took his son to a neighbor’s home.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
