The first feel good story comes from Columbus, Georgia<\/a>, near the Home of the Infantry;<\/p>\n

[Lt. Consuelo Askew] said that three men and a woman forced their way into a house at the 1143 location. At least one was armed.<\/p>\n

A resident heard his wife screaming, grabbed a gun and came down the hallway shooting.<\/p>\n

“He feared for his life,” Askew said.<\/p>\n

Askew said the suspects ran from the house.<\/p>\n

One suspect was shot and found in the yard at the 1244 Clubhouse Road.<\/p>\n

He was taken to Midtown Medical Center and is now out of surgery.<\/p>\n

Another suspect was taken into custody.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The second story comes from Mississippi<\/a>;<\/p>\n

A Jackson man was dead early Saturday in what police said is a case of a business owner defending his property.<\/p>\n

Police said the business owner shot and killed Jamie Rose as he was trying to break into First Line Automotive on Highway 80 and Gault Street.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Here’s one from David that happened in Texas<\/a>;<\/p>\n

The male homeowner told Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s deputies that he heard the doorbell ring several times and looked out a window but didn’t see anyone.<\/p>\n

When he heard his three dogs barking like mad, he stepped into the upstairs hallway with a hockey stick to see what was going on and saw a strange man coming up the stairs, investigators said.<\/p>\n

By that point the female homeowner had joined him at the top of the stairs in the Glenn Loch Farms subdivision home.<\/p>\n

“The burglary suspect found himself in the middle of three mad dogs and a homeowner armed with a hockey stick,” Assistant Chief Mark Herman of the constable’s office said in a statement. “The suspect probably made a good decision and surrendered until deputy constables arrived.”<\/p>\n
