Reader Ohio sends us our first story this morning, from Dayton<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Jawaad Jabbar, 16, was shot and killed outside the Dayton Mall on Dec. 20 during an attempted robbery. Police said Jabbar displayed a loaded handgun and attempted to rob an adult male, a valid CC permit holder, who pulled out his own handgun and shot Jabbar.<\/p>\n

Two juveniles, 16 and 17, were arrested and placed in the Montgomery County Juvenile Justice Center on charges ofmurder, aggravated robbery and complicity to commit aggravated robbery. The 17-year-old juvenile has seen been released because there is insufficident evidence that he was part of the robbery, according to the release.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The next story comes from Texas<\/a> and sent to us by Chief Tango;<\/p>\n

The resident, who had been victimized several times before by robberies and thefts, noticed a suspicious vehicle parked near his home. \u201cHe got a weapon from his house and he saw another suspect walking through the back field behind his fence line,\u201d stated Assistant Police Chief Richard Winstanley with the Hurst Police Department. \u201cWe\u2019re not sure exactly how it started, but gunfire erupted.\u201d<\/p>\n

The homeowner was struck in the hip during the shootout. But, despite his wound, he then returned fire at the suspect vehicle as it was attempting to leave. That car was stopped by Euless police officers along nearby Highway 10, and two men were found inside. One man was dead and the other was injured.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
