Folks in Georgia<\/a> are marginally safer this morning thanks to a homeowner there;<\/p>\n

The man said he was asleep when someone kicked in the front door of his house on Kings Glen Drive around 11 a.m. The homeowner said he grabbed a gun and went to see what happened, then realized that someone was inside.<\/p>\n

“The male heard the entry of the suspect, retrieved a firearm and confronted him in the home,” DeKalb County Police Capt. Steve Fore said.<\/p>\n

As the suspect ran to his car, the homeowner shot at him, police said.<\/p>\n

“As he was getting into the vehicle, the homeowner reported that it appeared he was reaching for something in the vehicle, and in fear, (he) fired his weapon,” Fore said.<\/p>\n

Officers arrested the suspect at a nearby Texaco gas station on Panthersville Road. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he remains in stable condition. No one else was injured.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
