The first is from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedenverchannel.com\/news\/local-news\/robbery-suspect-accused-of-trying-to-buy-laptop-with-counterfeit-cash-pretending-he-had-a-gun\">Colorado<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The two men had agreed to meet for the computer sale in a parking lot near Evans and Broadway at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Earl May, Jr., 28, tried to pay with counterfeit cash but was confronted by the victim.<\/p>\n<p>After the confrontation, bluff and realization that the victim had an actual gun, May was held at gunpoint while the victim called 911.<\/p>\n<p>During the call, however, police say a homeless woman intervened to stop any shooting from happening.<\/p>\n<p>As the victim was distracted, May ran into a nearby restaurant and tried to claim he was the victim of a crime.<\/p>\n<p>Officers later caught up with May and arrested him on suspicion of robbery.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The next story is from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wvva.com\/story\/27655977\/2014\/12\/17\/one-man-in-critical-condition-after-shooting-in-raleigh-county\">West Virginia<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Deputies with the Raleigh County Sheriff&#8217;s Dept. said Beverley Cooper, 50, of Cool Ridge, was killed by an elderly homeowner on Blue Jay 6 Road in Cool Ridge on Wednesday night. Right now, deputies said this appears to be a case of self defense.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe that the homeowner shot the intruder in self-defense. The suspect had tried to make it into the residence. The homeowner said somebody&#8217;s home, but the suspect continued. That&#8217;s when the homeowner, fearing for her safety, shot the suspect,&#8221; said Lt. J.C. Canaday with the Raleigh County Sheriff&#8217;s Dept.<\/p>\n<p>According to Canaday, West Virginia is one of 21 states that recognizes Stand Your Ground law, meaning homeowners have no obligation to retreat in the face of danger. &#8220;We hope people would consider not breaking into homes to begin with, but we hope this encourages everyone to be vigilant. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/WVVA.images.worldnow.com\/interface\/js\/WNVideo.js?rnd=239413;hostDomain=www.wvva.com;playerWidth=500;playerHeight=300;isShowIcon=true;clipId=10961782;flvUri=;partnerclipid=;adTag=News;advertisingZone=;enableAds=true;landingPage=;islandingPageoverride=false;playerType=STANDARD_EMBEDDEDscript;controlsType=fixed'><\/script><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wvva.com\" title=\"WVVA TV Bluefield Beckley WV News, Weather and Sports\">WVVA TV Bluefield Beckley WV News, Weather and Sports<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.channel3000.com\/news\/milwaukee-fatal-shooting-ruled-selfdefense\/30313226\">Wisconsin<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Milwaukee police say a 42-year-old man fatally shot a man who was trying to rob him.<\/p>\n<p>A Milwaukee police spokesman said Thursday the Milwaukee County district attorney&#8217;s office reviewed the case Wednesday and determined the shooting was a justified self-defense homicide.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the 24-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the Saturday shooting.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Once again Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories to kick off your weekend.
