Of course, Tom Harkin is famous in our circle for lying about his military service as a pilot in Vietnam. Joni Ernst, on the other hand, hasn&#8217;t lied about her service as a company commander whose troops ferried supplies from Kuwait into Iraq in the early days of the Iraq War. From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/andrewkaczynski\/tom-harkin-dont-be-fooled-because-joni-ernst-is-really-attra\">Buzz Feed<\/a>; <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIn this Senate race, I\u2019ve been watching some of these ads,\u201d Harkin said at the Story County Democrats\u2019 annual fall barbecue last week honoring the retiring senator. \u201cAnd there\u2019s sort of this sense that, \u2018Well, I hear so much about Joni Ernst. She is really attractive, and she sounds nice.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell I gotta to thinking about that. I don\u2019t care if she\u2019s as good looking as Taylor Swift or as nice as Mr. Rogers, but if she votes like Michele Bachmann, she\u2019s wrong for the state of Iowa.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But at least she doesn&#8217;t lie about her military service like Tom Harkin.
