They leave out military service, which I’ll correct for them here.

We’ve seen lots of people who falsely claim on their résumés that they were SEALs or Special Forces. For some reason they add that they’re recipients of medals and training that are also false, and usually have nothing to do with the job for which they are applying. A really good example is Larry Sims who we busted in 2012. When we brought his lies to the attention of his employer, that employer discovered that he also lied about his academic credentials. So Larry moved on and tried the same thing with another employer earlier this year. This time our initial post from 2 years ago sparked interest in his new HR department and they tossed his lying ass before we could have much impact. And then, this weekend, someone sent us this report of Larry’s activities since the second firing;

Yeah, he’s been arrested for unemployment fraud.

One of Don Shipley’s tipsters is a headhunter who sends him reams of résumés he encounters of people falsely claiming to be SEALs. When I went to HR for last job, I had to show them my DD214, but then, I’ve had HR people send me fake DD214s that made them suspicious to try and verify. So there are people who are vigilant for phonies, but most of them are veterans. With the government pushing for veteran hirings and the goodwill that the American people have for veterans these days, it’s only natural that sociopaths will try to cash in on that. But employers need to pay attention to the problem, so they don’t hire a Larry Sims.

Don sends us a link to MSN which talks about 3 common lies that people put … MSN: Common lies on résumésRead more

[177,30

post-55962","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-dumbass-bullshit","category-phony-soldiers
["GET
