{"id":55561,"date":"2014-10-01T12:53:03","date_gmt":"2014-10-01T16:53:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=55561"},"modified":"2014-10-01T12:57:17","modified_gmt":"2014-10-01T16:57:17","slug":"turkey-wants-more-than-dropping-bombs-on-isis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=55561","title":{"rendered":"Turkey wants more than &#8220;dropping bombs&#8221; on ISIS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/turkey-pushes-more-dropping-tons-bombs-153304124.html\">AFP<\/a> comes news that the Turkish government, you know, those same guys who won&#8217;t let us fly operations from our airbases there, want us to do more than just drop bombs on the ISIS\/ISIL\/Islamic State fellows;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Dropping tons of bombs from the air is only a temporary solution and only delays the threats and the danger,&#8221; [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan told parliament in a keynote address on the opening day of its new session.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The world should know that Turkey is not a country that will allow itself to be used in the search for a palliative solution,&#8221; he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeah, so whatcha got, Recep? While I agree that if the Syrian question had been solved a year ago, that might have uncomplicated things, but without US leadership and with Russian resistance, that hasn&#8217;t been possible. Turkey, on the other hand, has the horsepower to be a leader in the region, but, I guess they&#8217;d rather engage in back-bench sniping. <\/p>\n<p>They wouldn&#8217;t even let us run the 4th Infantry Division through their country in 2003 during the 2nd invasion of Saddam Hussein&#8217;s Iraq.
