{"id":552,"date":"2007-08-08T12:05:37","date_gmt":"2007-08-08T16:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/08\/dea-report-arabs-immitating-mexicans\/"},"modified":"2007-08-08T12:58:07","modified_gmt":"2007-08-08T16:58:07","slug":"dea-report-arabs-immitating-mexicans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=552","title":{"rendered":"DEA report: Arabs immitating Mexicans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20070808\/NATION\/108080088\/1001\" target=\"_blank\">Sara Carter of the Washington Times<\/a> (upon whom\u00c2\u00a0I&#8217;m developing\u00c2\u00a0a crush, though we&#8217;ve never met, based purely on her journalistic production in the national security area in recent weeks), the DEA has released a report that Mexican drug smugglers are assisting Arabs to infiltrate the US;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Islamic extremists embedded in the United States \u00e2\u20ac\u201d posing as Hispanic nationals \u00e2\u20ac\u201d are partnering with violent Mexican drug gangs to finance terror networks in the Middle East, according to a Drug Enforcement Administration report.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Since drug traffickers and terrorists operate in a clandestine environment, both groups utilize similar methodologies to function &#8230; all lend themselves to facilitation and are among the essential elements that may contribute to the successful conclusion of a catastrophic event by terrorists,&#8221; said the confidential report, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But the main reason that the Homeland Security Department was formed is still an ongoing problem;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Lack of information sharing between U.S. intelligence agencies is creating a blind spot in the war on terror and has left the U.S. vulnerable to another attack, the report states.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So what, exactly, is Homeland Security doing? This is discouraging, to say the least.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>According to a Department of Homeland Security intelligence report obtained by The Times, nearly every part of the Border Patrol&#8217;s national strategy is failing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Al Qaeda has been trying to smuggle terrorists and terrorist weapons illegally into the United States,&#8221; the 2006 document states. &#8220;This organization has also tried to enter the U.S. by taking advantage of its most vulnerable border areas.
