The men refused to leave, and the homeowner shot Mendez in the abdomen.<\/p>\n<p>Mendez was hospitalized and is expected to survive, according to the sheriff\u2019s office. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The next story is from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfoxtampabay.com\/story\/26436966\/police-st-pete-homeowner-holds-burglar-at-gunpoint-until-officers-arrive\">Florida<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[When he got up to use the restroom, Joseph] Cihak saw [Bryan] Remley digging through his living room and then fired two shots after he claims Remley charged him. Cihak&#8217;s wife called 911 after hearing the commotion.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Remley was unable to get out of the house, so Cihak held him at gunpoint until police officers arrived.
