The first is from Connecticut;

Police said the robber walked into the Quick Food Mart at 305 New Haven Avenue around 11 p.m. Monday and shot an employee in the leg after demanding money

That employee, Jehan Zeb, recounted the harrowing encounter Tuesday night. He’s sporting crutches but expected to be fine.

“I see the pistol and at that time, he came here inside the register area and tell me, ‘Hands up and give me money,” Zeb said.

The robber then fired two rounds, one of which hit him in the leg, he explained.

“And the third time, they target my forehead,” Zeb said. He opened the register, then lunged at the robber and tussled with him for the gun.

Zeb said he wrenched the pistol from the suspect’s grasp and the robber ran off. Only then did he realize blood was filling his shoes.

The next comes from South Carolina;

Captain Travis Tilson said investigators have determined the victim, 41-year-old Bradley Payne, of Walhalla, was standing outside the home threatening the homeowner prior to the shooting.

Tilson said the homeowner retrieved a pistol and yelled for Payne to not enter the home.

Payne then jerked open the screen door and entered the home, Tilson said.

He said the homeowner shot Payne as he entered, striking him in the hip. The homeowner then called 911 and waited for deputies to arrive.

“No criminal charges will be filed against the individual who shot Mr. Payne. South Carolina law is very clear in stating a man’s home is his castle. A homeowner has the right to protect themselves if they fear their life is in imminent danger,” said Sheriff Mike Crenshaw in a release.

And Jeff wanted you to read this one from Indiana;

Police say James Worthington pulled up to a gas station on a bike early Tuesday morning. They say he approached James Shelton as he was pumping gas and demanded money.

Shelton says Worthington pointed a gun at him when he initially denied he had money. Then Shelton told Worthington he had $20 in his truck.

Shelton instead grabbed a club and fought off the would-be robber.

Police say they located Worthington and chased him down after he attempted to flee. Officers say they saw him toss a gun as he ran and it turned out to be a BB gun.

Worthington is charged with attempted robbery, pointing a handgun and resisting law enforcement.

Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories for this morning.
