This morning’s first feel good story comes from Atlanta<\/a>;<\/p>\n

The shooting happened just before 7:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Connell Avenue, in a neighborhood off Metropolitan Parkway.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe call was actually called in by one of the homeowners and it appears that the individual shot was an intruder on the man\u2019s property,\u201d Atlanta police Capt. Paul Guerrucci told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. \u201cThe intruder was found outside the house, but we\u2019re still speaking with the homeowner and trying to determine exactly what happened. On the surface, it would appear like a burglary attempt.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, someone broke into the man\u2019s home while he was there, police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said. It wasn\u2019t immediately clear if the intruder in Monday\u2019s incident was the same person who broke into the shooter\u2019s home over the weekend.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The second story for today comes from San Antonio<\/a>;<\/p>\n

Police said the alleged intruder, a man in his 20s, broke into the home through a back window and was confronted by the homeowner.<\/p>\n

The 70-year-old homeowner then shot the intruder three times in the leg, police said.<\/p>\n

Paramedics transported the alleged intruder to the hospital, and police said he was expected to survive. Police said the intruder would likely be charged with burglary.<\/p>\n

The homeowner told investigators his home had been broken into several times recently so he decided to keep a handgun nearby.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
