The linked article discusses a take-home final exam for an English course at BCC, worth 40% of the course grade.<\/p>\n<p>Fair warning: reading the linked article will likely p!ss you off bigtime. It certainly did me \u2013 although it didn\u2019t much surprise me.<\/p>\n<p>Just in case anyone was wondering:\u00a0 the best I can determine, the text \u201cNamaste! Asalaamu Aleicum!\u201d which appears at the bottom of the take-home exam is apparently the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikibooks.org\/wiki\/Hindi_Lessons\/Lesson_2\">Hindi and Arabic equivalents of \u201cGood-day!\u201d<\/a> \u00a0Not sure just how that fits into an English course at a college in the Bronx, exactly, but there it is.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Oh, and if the name &#8220;Bronx Community College&#8221; seems to ring a bell in the anti-military context . . . it should.\u00a0 Michelle Malkin <a href=\"http:\/\/michellemalkin.com\/2008\/03\/07\/special-report-tracing-the-lefts-escalating-war-on-military-recruiters\/\">documented groups of students from that particular college harassing military recruiters multiple times during March-April 2005 here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m guessing they still let vets use their GI Bill to attend, though.\u00a0 After all:\u00a0 money is money &#8211; and we all know how Academia steadfastly sticks to its principles whenever a dollar can be had.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Hat-tip to Havoc13 and RangerUp for the original story.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>. . . look no further than this little \u201cgem\u201d from Bronx Community College.
