{"id":51813,"date":"2014-06-20T10:56:17","date_gmt":"2014-06-20T14:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=51813"},"modified":"2014-06-20T10:56:17","modified_gmt":"2014-06-20T14:56:17","slug":"taliban-interupts-rush-for-the-exits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=51813","title":{"rendered":"Taliban interupts rush for the exits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While we&#8217;re all watching events in Iraq, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stripes.com\/news\/middle-east\/taliban-attack-targets-trucks-carrying-nato-gear-from-afghanistan-1.289668\">Stars &#038; Stripes<\/a> reports that a group of Taliban operating near the Pakistan border destroyed some of the gear that is being shipped back to the US, I guess as a kick in our collective ass as we leave Afghanistan;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> Insurgents attacked a parking lot at a busy border crossing in Nangarhar province just before 5 a.m., placing magnetic bombs on trucks carrying military vehicles out of the country, according to Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, spokesman for the Nangarhar provincial government. The attack sparked an hours-long gun battle, leaving all three attackers dead and three truck drivers injured.<\/p>\n<p>The trucks were attacked near the Torkham border crossing in eastern Afghanistan, a major transit point for military gear headed out of the country to the Port of Karachi in Pakistan. The attack comes one day after a fuel tanker was blown up on a road in eastern Afghanistan, leaving two civilians dead and six more injured.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the article, Afghans are complaining that the roads in their country are becoming more dangerous in recent months.
