This morning’s feel good story comes from California<\/a> where a 22-year-old defended his siblings from a home invasion;<\/p>\n

Deputies say four siblings — ages 22, 18, 11 and 8 — were in the home just before 6 a.m. when the 22-year-old man heard the sound of someone breaking through a door, then saw a least two people in his home. The man got a handgun out of a safe and confronted the suspects. Deputies say the man and at least one intruder exchanged fire.<\/p>\n

The man was hit by multiple rounds, as were two intruders. One suspect died at the scene as the second suspect tried unsuccessfully to pull the first to a getaway vehicle.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Another story comes from Chief Tango who sends us a link from Montana<\/a> and it’s a little different because Christopher Michelotti was wanted by the United States Marshals Service’s Montana Violent Offender Task Force and he’d been wounded in a home invasion a few days ago. Police staked out his residence because he was reputed to be armed and dangerous;<\/p>\n

The residence was under surveillance when four people, including Michelotti, were seen leaving and getting in to a vehicle.<\/p>\n

Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and a chase ensued. The driver sped away through the Box Elder area, leaving the reservation. The Montana Highway Patrol and Hill County Sheriff’s Office were then notified.<\/p>\n

The chase continued northbound on Highway 87 into Hill County where the Montana Highway Patrol and sheriff’s units were waiting. Officers used stop sticks, but the driver continued to drive for some time on flattened tires through Havre.<\/p>\n

The suspects were eventually apprehended without further incident.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
