{"id":48957,"date":"2014-05-28T08:00:43","date_gmt":"2014-05-28T12:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=48957"},"modified":"2014-05-27T19:30:04","modified_gmt":"2014-05-27T23:30:04","slug":"va-treats-trangender-vets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=48957","title":{"rendered":"VA treats trangender vets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chief Tango sends a link to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.armytimes.com\/article\/20140527\/BENEFITS06\/305270026\/VA-treats-2-500-transgender-veterans\">Army Times<\/a> which reports that the VA admits that they have treated more than 2500 veterans for gender dysphoria, you know that disorder that the <a href=\"http:\/\/allpsych.com\/disorders\/sexual\/genderidentity.html\">Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders<\/a> says &#8220;that childhood issues may play a role in this disorder&#8221; meaning it&#8217;s not service-connected.<\/p>\n<p>And oh, did I mention that thousands of veterans are in line to get actual problems caused by their service treated? Well, they are.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In 2013, the Veterans Affairs department treated 2,567 veterans with the diagnosis of gender dysphoria with transgender-specific care, according to Ndidi Mojay, a VA spokeswoman.
