Now, who said that? Lenin? Khrushchev? Stalin? Brezhnev? Mao? Castro?\u00a0 The leader of the Shining Path, or some other Communist guerrilla group?\u00a0 Maybe Marx, speaking of his future Communist utopia?<\/p>\n

Nope. None of the above.<\/p>\n

If you guessed a current Member of Congress from South Florida<\/em> \u2013 give yourself a big honking Attaboy (or Attagirl).<\/p>\n

No, I\u2019m not joking. It was Representative Joe Garcia<\/a> of Florida. He currently represents western Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll leave figuring out Rep. Garcia\u2019s political party affiliation as the proverbial \u201cexercise for the reader.\u201d<\/p>\n

Predictably, Garcia has since backed away from his statement.\u00a0 He\u2019s now claiming that he never intended to endorse Communism and was being \u201ctongue in cheek\u201d when he made the remark.<\/p>\n

Of course, this was the same Congressman who was also caught on-camera\u00a0 engaging in what can at best be described as rather disgusting personal behavior<\/a> – on live TV (House Jusdiciary Committe markup, broadcast live on C-Span)<\/em>.\u00a0 And who’s also featured video of himself hanging out with a politician awaiting arrested last summer on public corruption charges in a recent political ad (which has since been pulled from Youtube).\u00a0 And who thinks we have a “border problem” in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n

So personally I just don’t buy his claim of, \u201cI was just kidding.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTongue in cheek\u201d, hell – try \u201cfoot-in-mouth Freudian slip\u201d.\u00a0 Or maybe, “I was just doing what comes naturally – being the village idiot.”<\/p>\n

Hopefully the good voters of South Florida will replace this \u00a0\u00a0 moron<\/del> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/del>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 idiot<\/del>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 fool with someone of at least normal intelligence in November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
