Merna\" width=\"225\" height=\"247\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48232\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stripes.com\/news\/31st-meu-commander-resigns-on-okinawa-amid-inquiry-1.283997\">Stars &#038; Stripes<\/a> reports that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.31stmeu.marines.mil\/About\/Leadership\/CommandingOfficer.aspx\">Colonel John Merna<\/a> has resigned his position as the commander of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit for a malady that has infected a whole crowd of his rank;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> Col. John Merna resigned following a preliminary inquiry within the command element into allegations of \u201cintemperate behavior\u201d and \u201clanguage,\u201d according to a Marine Corps statement. The allegations were first made in a command climate survey.<\/p>\n<p>Merna\u2019s resignation was accepted by Lt. Gen. John Wissler, commander of the III Marine Expeditionary Force.
