We’ve been going around in circles with Kirjath Toney<\/a>, a Korean War Veteran who insists that he earned the awards that he wears on his Odd Fellows uniform. So, I got snail mail today from him and it goes like this;<\/p>\n

So, I called Kirjath’s number and it went to voice mail and I was told by the recording that his vmail box is full. I did leave my number and I’m holding my breath waiting for him to call me back.<\/p>\n

That letter from Mr. Johnson settles it for me, though. Some guy I don’t know tells me that he’s verified everything. I mean everyone else in the IOOF has been so helpful,I’m sure Mr Johnson is a Odd Fellow, too. But it leaves me wondering why Mr Toney hasn’t contacted the NPRC and get this settled. And Mr. Johnson scolds us that Toney’s records may have been destroyed, but that doesn’t seem to be the case – there are his records…right there. Or that his records might be classified, but there he is wearing his “classified” medals right there in public.<\/p>\n

I don’t know exactly why a civilian dude who works for the Air Force in Texas would know how to read Army records that came out of Missouri (which were destroyed or classified or the pages stuck together with bubble gum or the dog ate the records). Toney won’t answer questions as to the time and place the awards were earned, he won’t respond to questions about how he can prove his awards when the Department of Defense and Doug Sterner can’t. He won’t provide a redacted copy of his citation or orders except on some trip that was supposed to happen last month to WV, but now will happen “this month” with no further details, except at a phone number which doesn’t except messages and doesn’t get answered.<\/p>\n

So, yeah, I’m totally convinced. You can tell how convinced I am by the way I categorized this post.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
