The Washington Times<\/a> says that the White House thinks that it’s too early to contemplate sending Special Forces to Nigeria yet;<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s not get ahead of ourselves,\u201d said White House press secretary Jay Carney. \u201cAt this point we\u2019re not actively considering the deployment of U.S. forces to participate in a combined rescue mission.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are actively advising \u2014 including through military personnel \u2014 the Nigerian government as it seeks to find, to locate and to rescue these girls,\u201d he said. \u201cFinding them is the first step.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I guess they’re going to give the #hashtag campaign a little more time to have it’s full effect on the terrorists who are checking constantly to see if they’re trending yet.<\/p>\n

But, John McCain who is running for “The Most War Hawk Guy” I guess is pushing for boots on the ground in Nigeria, reports McClatchy<\/a>;<\/p>\n

He wants to see U.S. troops go into Nigera and rescue the girls, even if it means doing so without permission from the Nigerian government.<\/p>\n

\u2018If they knew where they were, I certainly would send in U.S. troops to rescue them, in a New York minute I would, without the permission of the host country,\u2019 McCain said Tuesday. Referring to Nigeria\u2019s president, McCain added: \u2018I wouldn\u2019t be waiting for some kind of permission from some guy named Goodluck Jonathan.\u2019<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I’m kinda glad he’s not President at this point. I mean, I’m not glad that Obama won, but I am glad that McCain isn’t trying to prove to us how much of a maverick he is by sending troops into Nigeria with an open ended mission.<\/p>\n

Time<\/a>, however, reports that the White House has supplemented their hashtag warfare with the use of drones;<\/p>\n

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said \u201cunmanned, unarmed\u201d aircraft had joined reconnaissance flights over a swath of Nigeria where Boko Haram is believed to be holding the girls hostage. Carney cautioned during a news conference that the area of greatest suspicion still covering an expanse of land \u201calong the size of West Virginia.\u201d<\/p>\n

The announcement comes as some U.S. lawmakers are urging the use of force to rescue the Nigerian girls. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
