Well, I came upon a odd old man<\/em>
\n He was wearing a fancy coat <\/em>
\n And I asked him, tell me what are those medals?<\/em>
\n This he told me<\/em><\/p>\n

Well son that one is my Silver Star<\/em>
\n And I got me a Bronze Star or two<\/em>
\n And I got a Purple Heart, Wings, C-I-B<\/em><\/p>\n

Aren\u2019t they shiny? Aren\u2019t they golden!<\/em>
\n And I got them in the war, son<\/em>
\n And you dare not doubt me now, ’cause I\u2019m a hero!<\/em><\/p>\n

Then another came to praise him<\/em>
\n And he sang a pean song <\/em>
\n Said that all were wrong to dare question this fellow<\/em><\/p>\n

And maybe it’s the time of year<\/em>
\n But then maybe it’s the day and age<\/em>
\n And I can’t say what it was<\/em>
\n But something seemed fishy<\/em><\/p>\n

Aren\u2019t they shiny? Aren\u2019t they golden!<\/em>
\n And he got them <\/em>in the war, mon<\/em>
\n So you dare not doubt him now, ’cause he’s my hero!<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

Yes they\u2019re shiny, Yes they\u2019re golden – <\/em>
\n But does he really rate them? <\/em>
\n And I now do wonder\u00a0 – is he a real hero?<\/em><\/p>\n

By the time we saw the FOI-A<\/em>
\n Have to say we were not shocked<\/em>
\nIt wasn\u2019t the first time we\u2019d seen a faker<\/em><\/p>\n

And I dreamed I saw thousands of real vets<\/em>
\n Marching toward that old fraud<\/em>
\nAs his face turned pale as milk<\/em>
\n Afraid to face them<\/em><\/p>\n

Yes they\u2019re shiny, and they\u2019re golden<\/em>
\n But his valor is all stolen
\n<\/em>Now his deceit is well-known \u2013 and he’s a zero!<\/em><\/p>\n
