Hawaii\u2019s health insurance exchange \u2013 called \u201cThe Connector\u201d \u2013 was awarded approximately $200 million in Federal subsidies.\u00a0 To date, it\u2019s spent about $100 million of those subsidies.<\/p>\n
Turns out it\u2019s done just about as well the ObamaCare exchanges in Oregon<\/a>. Or Maryland<\/a>.<\/p>\n So, just how many people has The Connector signed up?\u00a0 Less than 10,000 – 9,217 individuals plus 628 of its own employees and dependents, to be precise.\u00a0 And it\u2019s raised just a bit over $40,000 in user fees ($40,350).<\/p>\n The bottom line:\u00a0 The Connector has spent roughly $10,100 of Federal tax money per person it signed up<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0 Yeah, that\u2019s a \u201creally good deal\u201d.<\/p>\n In fact, it\u2019s so bad that the CEO of Hawaii\u2019s largest insurance provider has called for The Connector to be shut down<\/a>.\u00a0 Sound familiar?<\/p>\n But don\u2019t worry.\u00a0 In that socialist paradise Hawaii, they\u2019ve got this under control.<\/p>\n All they need is an unlimited supply of Federal money, and they\u2019ll have it fixed \u201creal soon now\u201d.<\/p>\n The sooner we rid ourselves of this abomination called ObamaCare, the better.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n PS:\u00a0 In case you were wondering, apparently the state-run exchanges in Nevada and Massachusetts are in p!ss-poor shape, too.\u00a0 Between them, they’ve burned through $260 million in Federal funds<\/a>\u00a0 (or will have, when Massachusettes decides what they’re going to do with their exchange) – and neither works worth a damn.\u00a0 They’re both so bad that both states are currently considering trashing their in-house attempts to create a state-run exchange and using that exemplar of missing functionality, HealthCare.gov, instead.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
