We wrote about James “Manse” Towery last year<\/a>, and the media in Atlanta<\/a> is catching up to the story after some Marines from his unit stepped up to expose his lies.<\/p>\n

“He didn’t deploy with us,” said Mark Mattson, who said he snapped a photo of Towery the day the unit deployed, leaving Towery behind.<\/p>\n

The Marine Corps told CBS46 News that personnel records show no indication that Towery served in Iraq or Afghanistan and did not receive Purple Heart medals. <\/p>\n

When Chirico asked Towery whether he served in Iraq and Afghanistan, Towery responded, “what do you want me to tell you?”<\/p>\n

When Chirico questioned Towery about the Purple Heart medal hanging on a wall in his home, Towery said, “I have no further comment.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It appears that he did serve, although the Navy told us that he hadn’t served in the Marines or the Marine Corps Reserves. <\/p>\n

According to the news article, Towery did receive a couple of Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, but he didn’t deploy to the war against terror, and he wasn’t wounded and he doesn’t have PTS, unless he got anxious when his unit deployed without him.<\/p>\n

CBS46 did an excellent job. Reporter Jeff Chirico visited Towery’s home and let Towery pile up certificates in his arms, and then dropped the bomb on him. Good job, Jeff.<\/p>\n
