{"id":46565,"date":"2014-05-10T06:30:44","date_gmt":"2014-05-10T10:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=46565"},"modified":"2014-05-09T20:14:30","modified_gmt":"2014-05-10T00:14:30","slug":"jason-oneill-phony-charity-collector-in-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=46565","title":{"rendered":"Jason O\u2019Neill; phony charity collector in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mary sends us a link from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.getwestlondon.co.uk\/news\/local-news\/fake-help-heroes-charity-collector-7097397\">Get West London<\/a> which tells the tale of Jason O\u2019Neill who forged documentation and made a collection bucket for the UK charity for British soldiers &#8220;Help for Heroes&#8221; and took up collections outside Wembley Stadium, only the cash went in his own pocket;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Help For Heroes, which raises money to help British servicemen and women injured in conflict, later confirmed O\u2019Neill was not a registered collector and had never sent the charity any money.<\/p>\n<p>O&#8217;Neill, of Barbot Close, Edminton, north London, admitted fraud by false representation and possessing articles for use in fraud at Willesden Magistrates&#8217; Court on March 20 and was sentenced to six months\u2019 imprisonment, suspended for nine months.<\/p>\n<p>Case officer PC Roisin Daly said: \u201cThis was a greedy and selfish act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cO\u2019Neill pre-planned to take advantage of generous members by making a bucket and a pass.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mr. O&#8217;Neill ended up with a suspended jail sentence.
