<\/a><\/center><\/p>\nJay Hemenway<\/a> was in the National Guard when he got called to active duty for a deployment to Iraq back in 2003. He injured himself during pre-deployment training at Joint Base Lewis-McCord when he tripped over his seatbelt getting out of a truck. He injured his shoulder. I know that because the New York Times <\/a>included him in their story about the part-time soldiers who complained they weren’t being treated as well as active duty soldiers. For some reason, for a shoulder injury, the Times reported that he used a walker.<\/p>\n The result of that injury got him 10% disability from the VA. But folks in his home town tell me that he brags that he was injured in Iraq, although he didn’t deploy. He also tells wild ass tales about making more than 1700 parachute jumps, you know even though he injured himself jumping out of a truck;<\/p>\n he also tells neighbors that he retired as a sergeant major (but why someone would want to brag about that, I have no idea).<\/p>\n But his DD214 records that he has never jumped from an airplane even once, he retired as a Sergeant E-5 and has never deployed;<\/p>\n Apparently, his injury resulted in two years of recovery at JBLM, and of course, no deployments. He was a cook, and there’s nothing wrong with that, except that now he plays on people’s sympathy with his woeful tales of combat injuries and I’m pretty sure, as useless as sergeant majors are, they don’t need any who are cooks.<\/p>\n Jay, you had a good career in the Army, be proud of what you did and stop telling your lies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"![\"Screenshot_2014-04-04-17-48-00\"](\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Screenshot_2014-04-04-17-48-00-187x300.png\")
