<\/a><\/center><\/p>\nAndy sends us a link to the news<\/a> that the Iranians have cancelled their well-publicized cruise of US-waters by their warships.<\/p>\n ut on Sunday, Fars quoted Navy commander Admiral Habibollah Sayyari as saying: “Due to a change in schedule, the battle Group-29 of the naval forces of the Iranian navy will not head to the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the mission will possibly be given to another group.”<\/p>\n He gave no reason for the decision but said warships’ missions were likely to change “depending on the situation in the region”, such as a rise in piracy in the Gulf of Aden.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yeah, pirates, that’s why. So our Atlantic moat once again proves useful. The Iranians are planning to hold a joint exercise with our former allies, Pakistanis, though, in the Oman Sea, according to Fox News<\/a>; <\/p>\n Iranian state television says Iran has started a joint naval drill with the Pakistani navy east of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, through which one fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.<\/p>\n Tuesday’s report did not say how the exercise in the Oman Sea would last.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yeah, most 6th century cultures do better when they stay close to home rather than attempt things that the West accomplished in the 15th century.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
