Every time he advertises with us, I buy something. But you can see that it could attract phonies, too. Our buddy, Bob Massie, who runs the joint, sent Taco Bell after one such fellow who wanted a display with the following mess;

The guy, Taco calls him “Super Marine”, is a used car salesman. So Taco started researching the guy and couldn’t find anything about him so finally he called Super Marine.

I let him tell me about how he was a POW, got all these awards and retired as a Marine Corps full Colonel after 31 years. There was a Linkedin profile for that name listing every op that the Corps has fought in since Vietnam. I mean this guy claimed it all.

The funny thing is as I spoke to him, I ran down each op that was on this profile (no photo though) and he confirmed Yes to them all and here they are for you to see along with all of his MOS’s down below.

About a week after that phone call, I phoned again to put him on notice to take down the Linkedin site or provide proof of service. He said he would. Well, he didn’t and a few days later I called him at his car dealership in NJ where he is a used car salesman. He was actually very surprised that I had tracked him down at his work and asked “How did you find me here?” I replied “it’s called the internet you dipSh**”

Mr. Super Marine didn’t like my approach and denied all of it. I thought that was funny since I taped the whole conversation.

You can hear the recordings at Bob Massie’s blog. Neither Taco nor Bob give the guy’s name, but I don’t mind. He claims to be a retired Marine Colonel Thomas Johnson. His LinkedIn profile is still posted, but it’s locked up – an intelligence officer who is undercover as a used car salesman in Union, New Jersey.

Taco sent one of his agents to his place of business to see if he has these lies posted in his office, apparently he doesn’t. That’s probably why he was trolling MyServicePride, to spruce up his office with his phony finery.

You’ll notice the ad to your left from MyServicePride for buying stuff decorated with your awards … Taco Bell busts phony at MyServicePrideRead more

[30

post-42225","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-phony-soldiers
["GET
