We wrote about Leonard “Mac” McQuown<\/a> last Fall. He’s been walking around the country to ostensibly raise money for homeless veterans, but basically, he’s on a walking tour of the country. He claims that he doesn’t ask for money, but people just give it to him. OK, nothing wrong with that. Except that a few years back, his charities were the subject of a warning by the state of Virginia. Virginia claimed that little money actually went to help anyone except McQuown. That’s what this news report from Arkansas<\/del> Louisiana says, too;<\/p>\n

In the video, McQuown claims that he gave some money to a homeless shelter, but the news crew found out that he gave the money via Paypal, but then asked for the money back.<\/p>\n

He also claim that he was a Marine sergeant, that’s not true. In fact he spent more than 200 days as a deserter and in confinement from the Marine Corps.<\/p>\n

Basically, he’s just making a living on the good will that people feel towards their soldiers and Marines these days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
