But  you can&#8217;t run and hide forever.&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kudos to the US Marshals Service.\u00a0 Due to their efforts, an Army fugitive on the run for more than 36 years has been captured.<\/p>\n<p>James Robert Jones <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/2014\/03\/14\/military-fugitive-who-escaped-federal-prison-in-177-arrested-in-florida\/\">was captured yesterday<\/a> in Pompano Beach, FL.\u00a0 Jones committed premeditated murder and aggravated assault while in the Army.\u00a0 In 1974, he was tried by court-martial, convicted, and sentenced to 23 years in prison for his crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Jones escaped from Leavenworth in 1977.\u00a0 Four years later, he surfaced &#8211; under an alias &#8211; in Florida.\u00a0 He&#8217;s apparently been living there, quietly, since.\u00a0 He&#8217;s known to have lived in Deerfield Beach, FL, since at least 2005.<\/p>\n<p>This January the Army asked the US Marshals Service for assistance in finding Jones.\u00a0 Using facial recognition software and other techniques, they located him.\u00a0 He&#8217;s now in custody and will be returned to Army control.<\/p>\n<p>Had Jones simply served his sentence, he&#8217;d have been a free man 16+ years ago.\u00a0 Now, he&#8217;ll likely die in prison &#8211; deservedly so.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Note:\u00a0 this article&#8217;s title is a quote from US Marshals Service spokesman Barry Golden.\u00a0 I thought it was fully apropos here.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kudos to the US Marshals Service.\u00a0 Due to their efforts, an Army fugitive on the run &hellip; <a title=\"&#8220;You can run.
