\u201cI said he\u2019s coming to the door,\u201d she said. \u201cHe started banging on the glass.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gary said he instinctively ran after the would-be burglar and held him for several minutes.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Ellen called 911.<\/p>\n
Deputies eventually arrived and took the suspect into custody.<\/p>\n
Ellen said she realized how scary the situation was after her adrenaline had worn off.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The second story comes from an evidently cold Rochester, Minnesota<\/a> where a man broke into a home to get warm and got a chilly reception;<\/p>\n
According to the report, the man said he heard someone smash the glass of his front door. When he investigated, he found the 21-year-old standing inside the house; the suspect demanded money. The homeowner told the intruder he was going to get his gun. The 21-year-old reportedly told him to “do what you gotta do.”<\/p>\n
The homeowner went to his bedroom \u2014 where he didn’t have a gun \u2014 and called his son, who lives nearby. The son arrived and found the suspect hiding near some outbuildings, the report says. He held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.<\/p>\n
According to the report, the 21-year-old had a preliminary breath test result of 0.251. He later told authorities he’d been out drinking and had been kicked out of the car, so he was looking for a place to get warm.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
