He did an interview on his way out the door, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stripes.com\/news\/middle-east\/interview-karzai-says-12-year-afghanistan-war-has-left-him-angry-at-us-government-1.270854\">Stars &#038; Stripes<\/a> in which he complained that the US doesn&#8217;t seem to value Afghan civilians;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> To Karzai, the war was not waged with his country\u2019s interests in mind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfghans died in a war that\u2019s not ours,\u2019 he said in the interview, his first in two years with a U.S. newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>In Karzai\u2019s mind, al-Qaeda is \u201cmore a myth than a reality\u201d and the majority of the United States\u2019 prisoners here were innocent. He\u2019s certain that the war was \u201cfor the U.S. security and for the Western interest.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>How is the war not &#8220;theirs&#8221;? Karzai is the elected leader thanks to American sacrifice.
