Three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star Medal with a Valor device. He claims he was in Beirut in 1982, but the 32nd Marine Amphibious Unit (MAU) didn&#8217;t arrive in Beirut until Goddard had been out of the Marines for three months. And, of course, he was out eight years before the Marines arrived in Saudi Arabia in 1990.
