<\/a><\/center><\/p>\nYeah, when I first read this, I had to keep checking that it wasn’t written by someone from the Soviet Union’s old state-sponsored Pravda propaganda rag. But, no it’s the New York Times editorial board<\/a>, writing a piece that would bring tears of joy to the eyes of Paul Joseph Goebbels.<\/p>\n Apparently, the Obamacare-inspired unemployment has liberated us from those pesky job things we used to have;<\/p>\n The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million over the next decade. That is mostly a good thing, a liberating result of the law. Of course, Republicans immediately tried to brand the findings as \u201cdevastating\u201d and stark evidence of President Obama\u2019s health care reform as a failure and a job killer. It is no such thing.<\/p>\n The report estimated that \u2014 thanks to an increase in insurance coverage under the act and the availability of subsidies to help pay the premiums \u2014 many workers who felt obliged to stay in a job that provided health benefits would now be able to leave those jobs or choose to work fewer hours than they otherwise would have. In other words, the report is about the choices workers can make when they are no longer tethered to an employer because of health benefits. The cumulative effect on the labor supply is the equivalent of 2.5 million fewer full-time workers by 2024.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yeah, I’m pretty sure that there will dancing in the streets now that Americans have been freed by having the opportunity to make the choice between food and healthcare. We were told that the new healthcare bill would lower the cost of healthcare, but, it appears that the opposite has happened instead. We were told that it would end unemployment, but, again the opposite has happened. So I guess the only thing left to do is to make unemployment and under employment look like it’s a good thing.
