Well, it seems that everybody\u2019s favorite non-SF, non-Tabbed, no-BSM, never-actually-a-LRP\/LRRP \u00a0(his first unit in Vietnam was re-designated from Long Range Patrol to Ranger long before he ever reported in)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0wannabe hero<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0blithering idiot<\/span> \u00a0\u00a0 fine individual is at it again.<\/p>\n

I simply don\u2019t have the time or patience today to link to all of our favorite WitLessOne\u2019s antics documented here at TAH.\u00a0 Search for \u201cWittgenfeld\u201d and \u201cWhittgenfeld\u201d using this site\u2019s Search Tool if you aren\u2019t familiar with why the guy is “oh so beloved\u201d here.<\/p>\n

Be that as it may:\u00a0 \u00a0y\u2019all ain\u2019t gonna believe that \u00a0 doddering old fool\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 fine former soldier\u2019s latest claim.<\/p>\n

Apparently, I am actually Don Shipley.<\/p>\n

Or at least a certain\u00a0\u00a0 clueless tool<\/del>\u00a0\u00a0 WitLessOne thinks I am.\u00a0 Just go to this link<\/a>, and take a look at the comments to his 17 January 2014 entry.\u00a0 (You’ll have to open comments, then open the two longer comments to find it.\u00a0 His blog is set up IMO rather clumsily.)<\/p>\n

Damn \u2013 I\u2019m a SEAL.\u00a0 That would indeed be a great thing.\u00a0 I wish I’d known that.\u00a0 Why didn’t someone tell me that before?<\/p>\n

That must mean I’ve been through BUD\/S.\u00a0 Wonder why I can\u2019t remember ever being on the beach at Coronado?\u00a0 Or graduating from BUD\/S?\u00a0 Or what my BUD\/S class number was?\u00a0 Wouldn’t I remember all of those things?<\/p>\n

Geez – that would mean I was in the Navy, too.\u00a0 Wonder why I can\u2019t remember that either?\u00a0 I mean, I\u2019ve been on a few Navy installations, and I\u2019ve seen a few Navy ships.\u00a0 But I can\u2019t remember ever setting foot on a US Navy ship or submarine \u2013 and I think I\u2019d remember doing that, too.<\/p>\n

It would mean that my spouse is named Diane.\u00a0 Funny, but I think I\u2019d remember that also.<\/p>\n

It would mean my son was a Navy SEAL.\u00a0 Whoah – I think I\u2019d remember that as well.<\/p>\n

You know, if I didn\u2019t know better, I\u2019d swear<\/em> it\u2019s just not possible that I\u2019m Don Shipley.\u00a0 But our favorite WitLessOne thinks I am \u2013 and we all know he\u2019s \u201cnever wrong\u201d. \u00a0\u00a0After all, he\u2019s a legend in his own mind. (smile)<\/p>\n

News flash for ya, oh\u00a0\u00a0 dipstick clown<\/del>\u00a0\u00a0 Induhvidual Formerly Known Professionally As “Thunder Chicken”:\u00a0 no, I\u2019m not Don Shipley<\/span><\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 As usual, you\u2019re barking up the wrong tree.\u00a0 The reason that I \u201cnever answered you\u201d (if you\u2019re not baldfaced lying about asking me; you’ve certainly never sent me<\/span> any e-mail asking me a damn thing) was that I never saw your alleged question.\u00a0 And in any case, I also have a life \u2013 one that includes far more pressing business than obsessively following everything you do, or disabusing you of every foolish notion you come up with.<\/p>\n

Based on what I\u2019ve seen, disabusing you of foolish ideas by itself would be a full-time job.\u00a0 For three <\/i>people.<\/p>\n

I must say I\u2019m flattered, though.\u00a0 From what I\u2019ve seen and heard about Don Shipley, he seems like one helluva fine fellow.\u00a0 I\u2019m honored to be compared to him, and would have been proud to serve alongside him.\u00a0 Unfortunately, I’ve not had the pleasure of ever meeting him or his lovely wife.\u00a0 Maybe one day I will.<\/p>\n

However, WitLessOne, before I end this article I have a bit of advice for you.\u00a0 Five bits of advice, to be precise.\u00a0 So you might want to listen closely.\u00a0 And if you don’t “get” one or more of them, have someone else explain them to you.<\/p>\n

First:\u00a0 IMO you should pray Don\u2019s not p!ssed you thought I was him, and publicly said as much.\u00a0 Because I don\u2019t think I\u2019d want Don \u2013 or his hair \u2013 p!ssed at me.\u00a0 I think you owe Don a bigtime<\/span> apology.\u00a0 A very public one.<\/p>\n

Second:\u00a0 since you seem to be oh so very interested in me, \u201cbuddy\u201d, I\u2019ll save you some trouble.\u00a0 I\u2019m also not the Pope, Lady Gaga, the POTUS, the Queen of England, Vladimir Putin, Ahmed Karzai, Bette Midler, Al Gore, Madonna, Alex Rodriguez, Angela Merkel, the Dali Lama, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry, Sting, Gary Sinese, Psy, Payton<\/del> Peyton Manning, the Emperor of Japan, Meryl Streep, or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. \u00a0 That should help narrow your search a bit.\u00a0 (smile)<\/p>\n

Third:\u00a0 John Wayne is dead.\u00a0 So you might want to use another image when referring to me on your blog.\u00a0 (By the way:\u00a0 is that old movie poster image you used copyrighted?\u00a0 Did you secure the copyright owner’s permission to use it?)<\/p>\n

Fourth: \u00a0I have a screen-capture of the comment from your blog where you claimed that I\u2019m Don Shipley.\u00a0 If that comment disappears from your blog, I\u2019ll post those screen captures here.<\/p>\n

And lastly:\u00a0 well, just watch this highly NSFW video<\/a> for my last bit of advice.\u00a0 I really think you should take that video to heart.\u00a0 Daily.<\/p>\n
