Anthony Ernest Luna, 52, had been accused of leading ex-fiance Tracy Tate, 46, to remote patches of desert off Highway 395 in May and holding her there at knife-point against her will.<\/p>\n
As part of the plea bargain Thursday \u2014 which came during a second continuation preliminary hearing \u2014 charges of kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, making a criminal threat and false imprisonment were tossed out.<\/p>\n

During court proceedings, Tate repeatedly referred to Luna as a \u201ctrained killer,\u201d saying he portrayed himself as a 32-year veteran of the Navy SEALs and had a penchant for wearing his uniform.<\/p>\n
However, Luna was in the Navy only six years and honorably discharged in 1986, according to a document introduced in court Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnybody and anyone who ever met him (thought he was a Navy SEAL),\u201d Tate testified. She claimed she did not know it was a lie until a sheriff\u2019s deputy informed her on the night of Luna\u2019s arrest.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
