{"id":38670,"date":"2013-11-30T07:02:21","date_gmt":"2013-11-30T12:02:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=38670"},"modified":"2013-11-30T13:41:50","modified_gmt":"2013-11-30T18:41:50","slug":"merrill-newman-apologizes-for-indelible-crimes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=38670","title":{"rendered":"Merrill Newman apologizes for &#8220;indelible crimes&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stripes.com\/news\/pacific\/korea\/north-korea-says-detained-korean-war-veteran-apologized-for-hostile-acts-1.255276\">The Associated Press<\/a> reports that Merrill Newman, the 85-year-old Korean War veteran who was kidnapped by the North Korean government as he was leaving that country, apologized to the government for some unclear reasons;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p> &#8220;I have been guilty of a long list of indelible crimes against DPRK government and Korean people,&#8221; Newman purportedly wrote in a four-page statement, adding: &#8220;Please forgive me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The statement, carried in the North&#8217;s official Korean Central News Agency, said the war veteran allegedly attempted to meet with any surviving soldiers he had trained during the Korean War to fight North Korea, and that he admitted to killing civilians and brought an e-book criticizing North Korea. DPRK stands for the Democratic People&#8217;s Republic of Korea, North Korea&#8217;s official name.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t clear what would happen to Newman now.
