{"id":38475,"date":"2013-11-17T08:52:34","date_gmt":"2013-11-17T13:52:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=38475"},"modified":"2013-11-17T08:52:34","modified_gmt":"2013-11-17T13:52:34","slug":"dsc-navy-cross-earned-in-benghazi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=38475","title":{"rendered":"DSC &#038; Navy Cross earned in Benghazi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2013\/nov\/16\/delta-force-marine-awarded-navy-cross-fight-cia-an\/\">The Washington Times<\/a>&#8216;s Rowan Scarbough reports that two Delta force members were secretly awarded a Distinguished Service Cross and a Navy Cross for their actions at the Benghazi consulate on September 11th, 2012;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Washington Times has reported that two Delta Force members were among a seven-person rescue team sent from the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli to Benghazi on the night of Sept. 11, 2012. Their mission: rescue diplomats, security personnel and CIA employees pinned down by terrorists about a mile from the U.S. diplomatic mission where Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and aide Sean Smith were killed by al Qaeda-directed militants.<\/p>\n<p>Two of those seven were Delta Force operators.
