{"id":38296,"date":"2013-11-05T16:49:26","date_gmt":"2013-11-05T20:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=38296"},"modified":"2013-11-05T17:02:18","modified_gmt":"2013-11-05T21:02:18","slug":"discrimination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=38296","title":{"rendered":"Discrimination?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chief Tango sends this link from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newschannel5.com\/story\/23874146\/soldier-reportedly-forced-out-of-cab-for-being-military\">Tennessee<\/a>, where a soldier claims that cab driver picked him up at the bus station in Nashville and then let him out a few blocks later because he&#8217;d been in the military;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[Allen] Pendley said Sunday afternoon he took a bus from Clarksville to Nashville after a weekend of training.<\/p>\n<p>He was dressed in uniform standing outside the downtown Greyhound station trying to get a cab home.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Before I could call one, a Yellow Cab pulled up and asked me if I needed a cab and I said yeah sure,&#8221; Pendley said.<\/p>\n<p>But after only a few blocks Pendley said the questions started coming and it was obvious the cab driver didn&#8217;t like his answers.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He asked me. He said &#8216;are you in the military?&#8217; I said &#8216;yes sir I am.&#8217; And then it got real quiet,&#8221; he recalled.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Then when he pulled over he said get out of the cab.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It sounds weird to me since Pendley was in uniform before he got in the cab. But the cab company says they&#8217;re investigating the incident and it may cost the cab driver his job.<\/p>\n<p><script type='text\/javascript' src='http:\/\/WTVF.images.worldnow.com\/interface\/js\/WNVideo.js?rnd=779835;hostDomain=www.newschannel5.com;playerWidth=500;playerHeight=250;isShowIcon=true;clipId=9489707;flvUri=;partnerclipid=;adTag=News;advertisingZone=;enableAds=true;landingPage=;islandingPageoverride=false;playerType=STANDARD_EMBEDDEDscript;controlsType=fixed'><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In the video, Pendley says that he thinks the cab driver is Somali, but that he&#8217;s not sure.<\/p>\n<p>In a related story, sent to us by ROS, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/2013\/11\/05\/army-veteran-banned-from-daughters-school-after-posting-picture-concealed\/?intcmp=latestnews\">Fox News<\/a> reports that a veteran in Georgia who posted a picture of her Concealed Carry Weapon license on Facebook which resulted in her being banned from school property where her daughter attends;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Tanya Mount says she was approached by a police officer from the Richmond County Board of Education at McBean Elementary School and was warned that she was about to get a criminal trespass warning.<\/p>\n<p>The officer told her that the principal at the school was \u201cscared\u201d of her and did not want her on the school property, she told the station.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He asks: &#8216;Were you in the Army?,&#8221;&#8216; she said. &#8220;I said, yes. I guess the principal has succumbed to the &#8220;scary vet&#8221; stories in the media. But, yeah, I wouldn&#8217;t post a picture of my CCW license on Facebook.
