Chief Tango sends us a link to today’s feel good story from Fairburn, Georgia<\/a> where a wheelchair-bound man stopped three masked men from turning their lives around in his bedroom;<\/p>\n

He said he woke up at about 4:15 a.m. to a crashing sound. In an instant, three masked men were in his bedroom. One was pointing a gun at his head and asking for money.<\/p>\n

Thomas told them he didn’t have any money. The man ordered him to roll over.<\/p>\n

“I’m like, \u2018Man, I’m in a wheelchair, man. Come on, now,’ Thomas recalled. “And when I rolled over, I had the gun under my pillow. So he started shooting. I started shooting, too.”<\/p>\n

“He said he thinks he might have hit one or two of them. He’s not sure,” said Thomas’s uncle and caregiver Frank Johnson, who lives in the home.<\/p>\n

Johnson was in a different bedroom when he heard the gunshots.<\/p>\n

“I jumped in the closet. That’s all I could do,” Johnson said.<\/p>\n

Minutes later, his nephew came into his room bleeding.<\/p>\n

“He started calling for me and told me they were gone,” said Johnson. “So I got my phone and called 911.”<\/p>\n

Thomas said he was shot seven times — once in the shoulder, once in the ribcage area and once in the hand. None of the bullets hit any vital organs. He expects that doctors will release him from the hospital soon.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
