Most of you probably know that a gentleman named Mariano Rivera is retiring from MLB at the end of this season.\u00a0 If you’re even a causal baseball fan – or even read the newspapers or otherwise follow the news – it would have been virtually impossible to avoid knowing.<\/p>\n
Most of you also probably know that the NY Yankees won’t be in the hunt for a World Series title this year.\u00a0 That means that for Mr. Rivera, his season ends Sunday.<\/p>\n
This man is considered to be one of the all-time greats.\u00a0 That’s true whether you’re talking athletic performance and class – or simply as a human being.<\/p>\n
I’m not going to sing his praises here.\u00a0 I’m only going to say two things:<\/p>\n
It’s not often you get to see an all time great end his career.\u00a0 It’s even rarer when that all-time great is also an all-time great human being.<\/p>\n
Vaya con Dios, Se\u00f1or Rivera.<\/em>\u00a0 IMO, the world needs more like you.<\/p>\n And baseball isn’t why.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
