NBC News<\/a> is reporting that government forces have killed hundreds of Syrian rebels and their families in an early morning chemical weapon attack this morning. <\/p>\n

Video clips apparently showing the graphic and disturbing aftermath of the alleged attacks on the rebel-held eastern Damascus suburb of Ghouta were posted to social media but could not be independently verified.<\/p>\n

If confirmed, it would be by far the worst known use of poison gas during the country\u2019s deadly civil war.<\/p>\n

British Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a statement he was \u201cdeeply concerned\u201d by the reports, which he said would represent \u201ca shocking escalation\u201d in the conflict. He promised to raise the issue at the United Nations Security Council.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course, UN weapons inspectors arrived in Syria this week to investigate previous charges, and this could be smoke and mirrors because we know how honest people who live in that region are with the infidel media. <\/p>\n

NPR<\/a> reports;<\/p>\n

The BBC’s Naomi Grimley adds that opposition groups have released “distressing pictures [that] show children lying limp in the arms of adults” and adults being hosed down, allegedly to wash away chemicals. But, she says, those images haven’t been independently verified.<\/p>\n

According to CNN, “the explosions took place in eastern and western Ghouta, rebel strongholds that the regime has for more than a year been desperately trying to take back. They don’t want rebels pushing into the capital.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
