{"id":37122,"date":"2013-08-16T12:47:02","date_gmt":"2013-08-16T16:47:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=37122"},"modified":"2013-08-16T12:47:02","modified_gmt":"2013-08-16T16:47:02","slug":"michael-lewis-phony-gulf-war-vet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=37122","title":{"rendered":"Michael Lewis; phony Gulf War vet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Someone sent us <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/national\/gulf-war-veteran-sues-san-diego-medical-marijuana-bust-leads-loss-kids-article-1.1424919\">a New York Daily News article<\/a> about Michael Lewis who claims to be a Gulf War veteran who was exposed to deadly chemicals during that deployment which should support his pot habit. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p> A Gulf War veteran and his wife claim San Diego County senselessly cracked down on his use of medical marijuana by taking their two young children for one year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a result, they (the children) were deprived of regular, open, and free contact and companionship of family and friends, including their parents,&#8221; the couple states in a complaint against the county.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Lewis says he was exposed to chemical weapons during the war that left him with incapacitating migraines, so he sought a medical marijuana prescription to alleviate the pain \u2014 never thinking it would cost him his kids.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis and his wife Lauren Taylor are suing San Diego County, seven of its officers, the City of Coronado and two of its officers for civil rights violations, battery, false imprisonment and negligence, the Courthouse News Service reports.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But the actual Gulf War ended six months before he joined the Navy; <\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?attachment_id=37123\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-37123\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Michael-lewis-FOIA-231x300.jpg\" alt=\"Michael lewis FOIA\" width=\"231\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-37123\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Michael-lewis-FOIA-231x300.jpg 231w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Michael-lewis-FOIA-257x333.jpg 257w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Michael-lewis-FOIA.jpg 583w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 231px) 100vw, 231px\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>No deployment awards, a shortened term in the Navy.
