Chief Tango sends today’s feel good story from Florida<\/a> when Mike’s dogs began barking about 2 am. Mike found an intruder in his kitchen;<\/p>\n

“The dogs were barking. I left my bedroom to find an intruder standing in my kitchen; he was ordered to stop. He advanced forward, and that’s when I did what I had to do to protect myself and my family,” he explained.<\/p>\n

Mike said his house was dark and groggy before he saw a silhouette coming for him. After ordering the person to stop, Mike said he fired two gun shots.<\/p>\n

“At that point in time you are in fear for your life. You don’t know if this guy is armed; you don’t know what he is armed with; you don’t know what his intentions are; you can’t take those chances in the middle of the night,” he said.<\/p>\n

Deputies said the man in the kitchen was 25-year-old Cody Miller\u2014who lives across the street from Mike.<\/p>\n

Deputies said they believe Miller was intoxicated when he allegedly kicked down Mike’s door.<\/p>\n

Criminal defense attorney Scott Moorey said this is an open-and-shut case\u2014a classic situation of self defense. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

No one knows why Cody was there and obviously he wasn’t in the mood to tell Mike. Maybe he can concoct a credible story while he’s recovering in the hospital and turning his life around. <\/p>\n
