From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/news\/texas-news\/Hasans-standby-attorneys-ask-for-control-of-case-or-to-be-removed-218689031.html\">WFAA8<\/a> in Dallas;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The standby defense attorneys for Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan during his court martial asked the judge Wednesday to let them take over or reduce their role, arguing they are only assisting his attempt to be sentenced to death for the 2009 massacre on post. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt became clear during his opening statements; his goal is to remove impediments to the death penalty and he is working towards a death penalty,\u201d said Col. Kris Poppe during the second day of testimony in the case. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou honor, I object,\u201d Hasan replied. \u201cThat\u2019s a twist to the facts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judge Col. Tara Osborn cleared the courtroom to have an <em>ex parte<\/em> hearing since there\u2019s a potential for privileged information to be shared. She then recessed the trial until 9 a.m. Thursday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So the trial is delayed another day. The prosecution had twelve more witnesses scheduled for today who got dicked over.
