{"id":36748,"date":"2013-07-22T18:47:17","date_gmt":"2013-07-22T22:47:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=36748"},"modified":"2013-07-22T18:47:17","modified_gmt":"2013-07-22T22:47:17","slug":"jailbreak-in-iraq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=36748","title":{"rendered":"Jailbreak in Iraq"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>JB sends us a link to the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-middle-east-23403564\"> BBC<\/a> which tells the tale of a massive prison break at Abu Ghraib during which about 500 prisoners were released and 20 or so Iraq government soldiers were killed on Sunday night;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mortar fire and suicide bombs were used to gain access to the jails, whose inmates include al-Qaeda prisoners.<\/p>\n<p>At least 20 members of the security forces were killed as they struggled to regain control.<\/p>\n<p>A senior Iraqi MP, Hakim Al-Zamili, said that about 500 prisoners had escaped from the notorious Abu Ghraib prison.<\/p>\n<p>Most of them were senior members of al-Qaeda who had been sentenced to death, he told Reuters news agency.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s obviously a terrorist attack carried out by al-Qaeda to free convicted terrorists with al-Qaeda,&#8221; the agency quoted an unnamed security official as saying.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But I was told that the only reason that people were killing each other in Iraq is because the US had troops there. Well, what&#8217;s the excuse now?
