{"id":36448,"date":"2013-06-29T19:05:35","date_gmt":"2013-06-29T23:05:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=36448"},"modified":"2013-06-29T19:19:09","modified_gmt":"2013-06-29T23:19:09","slug":"mounties-confiscate-guns-in-evacuated-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=36448","title":{"rendered":"Mounties confiscate guns in evacuated homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROS sends us a link from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calgaryherald.com\/touch\/story.html?id=8588851\">Calgary Herald<\/a> which tells of the Royal Mounted Canadian Police who, in the town of High River, Alberta, have been confiscating weapons they find in homes which have been evacuated after the town flooded;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe just want to make sure that all of those things are in a spot that we control, simply because of what they are,\u201d said Sgt. Brian Topham.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople have a significant amount of money invested in firearms &#8230; so we put them in a place that we control and that they\u2019re safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That news didn\u2019t sit well with a crowd of frustrated residents who had planned to breach a police checkpoint northwest of the town as an evacuation order stretched into its eighth day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find that absolutely incredible that they have the right to go into a person\u2019s belongings out of their home,\u201d said resident Brenda Lackey, after learning Mounties have been taking residents\u2019 guns. \u201cWhen people find out about this there\u2019s going to be untold hell to pay.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script src=\"http:\/\/player.ooyala.com\/player.js?width=320&#038;deepLinkEmbedCode=1ybHl1YzofO4umy3JjL64qSoWaSvPrPm&#038;embedCode=1ybHl1YzofO4umy3JjL64qSoWaSvPrPm&#038;height=168&#038;video_pcode=xobms6AdYCCdgiz_Qwxh2JOYMmEU\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is the reason the U.S. has the right to bear arms,\u201d said Charles Timpano, pointing to the group of Mounties.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ve heard that Alberta is more conservative than those frog-huggers on the east end of Canada and much less tolerant of a gun-grabbing government. I hope everything works out for them.
