{"id":36331,"date":"2013-06-20T09:53:43","date_gmt":"2013-06-20T13:53:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=36331"},"modified":"2013-06-20T09:53:43","modified_gmt":"2013-06-20T13:53:43","slug":"beloved-character-guilty-of-stolen-valor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=36331","title":{"rendered":"Beloved character guilty of Stolen Valor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I saw this last week and I thought it was pretty clever of someone at <a href=\"http:\/\/foodbeast.com\/content\/2013\/06\/14\/today-i-learned-captain-crunch-is-a-liar-and-a-fraud\/#.UcMID5z9UmS\">Foodbeast<\/a> who uncovered this egregious example of Stolen Valor;<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/funny-Captain-Crunch-commander-lie.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/funny-Captain-Crunch-commander-lie-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"funny-Captain-Crunch-commander-lie\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-36332\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/funny-Captain-Crunch-commander-lie-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/funny-Captain-Crunch-commander-lie.jpg 540w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/washwire\/2013\/06\/19\/u-s-navy-no-record-of-capn-crunch-service\/\">Wall Street Journal<\/a> has dug deeper;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Cap\u2019n Crunch took to Twitter to defend his honor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll hearsay and misunderstandings!,\u201d @realcapncrunch wrote.\u201dI captain the S.S. Guppy with my crew \u2013 which makes an official Cap\u2019n in any book!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course I\u2019m a Cap\u2019n!\u201d he wrote to anguished supporters searching for answers. \u201cIt\u2019s the Crunch \u2013 not the clothes \u2013 that make a man. #PaidMyDues\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But his protests failed to tamp down the sense of betrayal and anger.<br \/>\nThe controversy deepened on Wednesday when the Pentagon said it had no record of a Cap\u2019n Crunch ever serving in the U.S. Navy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have no Cap\u2019n Crunch in the personnel records \u2013 and we checked,\u201d said Lt.
